The objectives of the project will be accomplished through a variety of mechanisms, including:

(1) Holding annual project meetings to bring together geoscientists from around the world;

(2) Organizing international working groups to focus on particular aspects of the agenda;

(3) Promoting regional working groups and meetings to focus on local problems; and

(4) Promoting development of international collaborative research groups to generate and interpret field, analytical, and theoretical data from geologically representative and economically important A-type granite provinces.

The field trips are designed to focus on one such province each year, so that by the end of the project, the participants will have had a chance to study relationships of A-type granites in many tectonic settings and on several continents.

Annual meetings will be hosted by volunteer groups of scientists that will change from one country to another every year – this rotation will also balance contributions from various regions worldwide (North America, South America, Africa, Australia, Europe, etc.).
