"Benet Biscop" Watercolor

While reflecting on my personal art history, I've come to realize a continuity that has evolved and emerged. This has synchronized my conceptual and visual efforts. I believe this work, in part, is a dialogue with myself that exposes my upbringing as a Catholic, and my independent lifestyle as an adult since I became 21.

My attitude and mixed emotions on these issues have made an enormous imprint on my life. Mid-life evaluation resulted in a renewed strength to confront my former self and brought a new focus to my paintings. The newest body of works over the past several years thematically relate to the lives of the saints.

Encompassing all of my past artistic and intellectual interests, they are rich in visual variety, narrative storytelling and playful with irreverent humor.
