My faculty leave project was to produce 3.5’ x 5’ watercolor paintings over a period of one year. Completion of all 10 paintings has taken place over the past three years. The content of these pieces are concerned with the collision, convergence and parallel paths of religious thought, secular philosophy, and scientific evidence and theory. The images in this exhibition are from a variety of sources, and are a significant shift from my previous work. Because I am altering the way I think about these important issues, so are my paintings changing their visual appearance. This was an unexpected result, but a very desired one. Responding with a great deal of energy, enthusiasm and curiosity, this experience at mid-career is strongly rewarding to me as a woman, artist and educator. (Click link below for full statement)
